CHURCH TV UPDATE In the past few months our Pope John Paul II students have been involved in a community business project to help our parish out our services live on a web TV service for people all around the world. When it is up and running, families who cannot make it home for special family events, such as weddings, funerals, baptisms and other Masses and services, will be able to ‘tune in’ from anywhere around the world on their computer, laptop or phone! Many thanks to all who have donated a poinsettia or purchased a calendar that the students have produced in raising funds for our TV service. So far we have reached over €1,500 and are well on our way to reaching our goal of €5,000. In the new year we will be doing other fund-raising ideas, so watch this space. There are still a few calendars left and can be purchased either after Masses or in the Parish Shop for €10. Thanks you also to so many who have made one off donations. Envelopes are available in the church porches and are gratefully appreciated. The students wish all of you near and far a very happy and peaceful Christmas.
“Christmas is joy, religious joy, an inner joy of light and peace.” Pope Francis

Christmas Collection for the Priests of the Parish
As usual the collection for the Priests of the Parish takes place at all Masses over Christmas. Whatever is contributed at Christmas goes directly into the Clergy Diocesan Fund, from which the priests of the Diocese are paid. We thank you for your support for this collection over the years. If you use the weekly envelopes then your envelope will be in the box otherwise it will be delivered to your home. If you do not receive an envelope to your home, (we are desperately short of distributors) envelopes are available in both churches and can be handed in at any time.

Envelopes and Calendars and Christmas Newslinks are available for collection at your convenience. We thank you for your valued time and assistance.

The Third Sunday of Advent is also known as Gaudete Sunday. The word “gaudete” is derived from the Latin words gaudium, joy, and gaudeo, to rejoice or be glad.
