Village Dance

The Marlfield Village Dance will take place on Friday night the 4th March in the Clonmel Park Hotel commencing at 9pm. The music for the night is Johnny McNamara and Sean Quirke and have a lovely sound all tuned up for the night. There will be spot prizes and raffle but the good news is that there is no admission charge. This is a free dance and everyone is welcome and we want to see you there to dance the night away. See you there.

Trees

The village got a supply of bare rooted trees from Tipperary County Council and we will be planting them in the next few days when the weather settles down. The trees are heeled in presently and are all Irish species.

Clean Up

This has started with the collection of bottles and cans but the heavy stuff needs gathering before the grass grows over it. Coolmore Stables have sponsored a skip for the village clean up and the location will be evident in the coming days. The Tus team will do most of the heavy lifting but everyone has a part to play and fill that bag quickly and contact the village secretary on mobile no 0862937220 for more details.

Condolences

Marlfield Village extends its condolences to the Dahill family on the death of John Dahill. John was a familiar figure in our village and a noted pigeon fancier. He spent many happy hours with his friends at Marlfield Lake discussing the affairs of village and state and will be sorely missed on his favourite seat which now has an empty space. To John’s wife Mary and sons and daughters we extend our deepest condolences. May he rest in peace.

Village work plan

Spring has finally arrived and the planting season has begun. We have planted a good amount of young bare rooted trees in the Pond Life refuge and did a you of cleaning of rubbish and deliberate dumping. There is much more to be done and the proposed authentic floral meadow is being planned for the space at the dead tree. Slievenamon Nurseries have given us details of the work needed and we will start shortly when the ground firms up a little more

Thank You Jessie

The village Committee say good bye to Jessie O Riordan one of our Tús workers and thank him for his contribution to the maintenance of our village. Jessie was an excellent worker and we wish him well in future and look forward to his replacement.
