Confessions: Every Sat from 12pm to 1pm and 7pm to 7.30pm
Ministry to the Sick/ Nursing Homes : Mass at Melview Nursing Home. Sacrament of anointing of the sick on request. Sacrament of Holy Communion every First Friday.
Sacrament of Baptism: 5pm on the First Saturday of the month in Ss. Peter & Pauls and on the third Saturday in the Resurrection.
Sacrament of Marriage: Consult with one of the Priests to secure a date. Church and State Require at least 3 months notice.
Pre-Marriage Course: It is strongly recommended to partake in a Pre-marriage course organised by ACCORD (Catholic Marriage Advisory Council) for bookings and information contact 052 61 24144.

A prophet is never welcome in his home town. This familiar saying paraphrases the words of Jesus in today’s Gospel: ‘I tell you solemnly, no prophet is ever accepted in his own country.’ We might find ourselves sympathising with Jesus on this front: that feeling that no matter what we have done in our adult life, in our homeplace we are still identified with the child we were or the family we came from. Sadly there are some who seem to delight in taking others down a peg or two and ensuring they don’t get ideas ‘above their station’.
Perhaps we ourselves have this tendency sometimes. We can be guilty of pigeonholing people, of silencing their voices because their message comes in the wrong package. We don’t always recognise the prophets among us. Do we listen to young people’s opinions? Do we dismiss the experience and wisdom of elderly people? Are we biased against certain groups of people, or do we shoot people down before they even speak, just because we have disagreed with something they said in the past?
Jesus, the carpenter’s son, faces this attitude in today’s Gospel. Returning home to Nazareth he impresses his former neighbours at first with his preaching. But as soon as he challenges them, they turn on him. They refuse to listen to his message of hope and inclusion. They hustle him out of town and attempt to throw him from a cliff. Josephs son should not be speaking to them in this manner. Joseph’s son should know his place.

SOUTH TIPPERARY GENERAL HOSPITAL
Bishop Cullinan has been informed by the management of South Tipperary General Hospital and the HSE, that they are no longer able to provide clergy with a list of parishioners who are Inpatients in the hospital. This is in compliance of GDPR. (General Data Protection Regulation)
While the clergy will still be available to attend the hospital to visit patients, we now have to be asked by family or the patient themselves to attend the hospital, to visit our parishioners. Please contact the parish office/contact the priests directly if you wish us to visit anyone in hospital which we will be happy to do.
Novena to St. Patrick
Leaflets will be available in our churches for a Novena to St. Patrick. The Novena will begin on March 9th and continue to March 17th. We encourage you to take a leaflet and say the Novena with many others in our Diocese.
Friary Notes
Ash Wednesday. Ashes will be distributed at the 10am Mass and will be available on the altar thereafter.
Stations of the Cross for Lent take place every Friday after the 10am Mass.
The Sacrament of Anointing is available every First Friday after the Gospel at the 10am Mass.
The S.F.O. Monthly Meeting and Mass takes place on the 2nd Wednesday of every month and will take place on Wednesday 13th March. Light refreshments after in the Friary Hall.
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is on the 1st
Saturday of Every Month.
Lent
Next Wednesday is the beginning of Lent.
On Ash Wednesday, ashes will be distributed at the 9.30am Mass in the Church of the Resurrection and the 1.00pm Mass in Ss Peter and Paul’s.
There will be Stations of the Cross after the 9.30am Mass in the Church of the Resurrection for the
duration of Lent.
Coeliac Condition Low-gluten hosts are available from the main celebrant. The hosts will be in a separate part of the ciborium.

PARISH YOUTH INFORMATION MORNING SATURDAY 27 APRIL 10am – 1pm
The Diocesan Youth Committee is holding an information morning to showcase some of the youth initiatives that are available to all parishes in the diocese and country. I t is also an opportunity for us all to gather together to see what great work is going on in our respective parishes and to share ideas with each other. It will be an opportunity to meet people involved in groups such as Youth Alpha, Pope John Paul II Awards, Holy Family Mission, Altar Servers, Light Fever, and Summer Faith Camps among others.
We hope the day will give us all a way to inspire us to developing a stronger network of youth ministries across our diocese.

Friday Penance
Here are some suggestions that you may think of doing for Friday Penance over Lent.
Abstaining from Meat or some other food.
Abstaining from Alcohol or Smoking.
Visiting the Blessed Sacrament.
Making the Stations of the Cross.
Helping the poor, sick, old or lonely.
Make a special effort for Family Prayer.
A four night programme entitled ‘Signposts on the Road to Emmaus’ Exploring the Mass will begin on March 14th in the Park Hotel, Dungarvan.
The programme will continue on 21st and 28th March and 4th April. It is designed for anyone who would like to find out more about the Mass parishioners, member of parish pastoral councils, liturgy teams, etc.
