COPD:  COPD SI Nenagh and Siel Bleu are hosting an Exercise Group information day on Monday 15th October at 12 noon in St. Mary’s Parish Hall, Irishtown, Clonmel.  All welcome.  Pop in and join in.

Wedding Bells: Congratulations to Ciaran O’Connell, Glenconnor and Sarah Reardon, Silversprings who were married in Ratherilly recently. We wish Ciaran and Sarah many years of married happiness and togetherness.

Presentation Secondary Awards Day:  On the 2nd October, we had the annual awards day in St. Mary’s.  It was a very symbolic and nostalgic celebration as it focussed on the achievements of the young people in education, sport, culture, social graces.  Education is the development of the latent talents of each individual and bringing them to fruition.

It was a nostalgic day in that it was on this very day 205 years ago that the Presentation Sisters opened their school in Clonmel.  It was situated on the site of St. Mary’s Church on the grounds of the small car-park.  This year we are also celebrating the 300th Anniversary of the beginning of Nano Nagles (foundress of the Presentation Sisters) great pioneering work in education.  This year’s guest speaker was our own Juanita Guidera, past student of Presentation.  Juantia gave a truly inspiring and motivational address and encouraged the young girls present to discover their dream, share it with others but above all else to have the courage to follow it.
