The World Meeting of Families
As you are all aware, Dublin is hosting this upcoming International Event in 2018. To help prepare for this special event we would like to invite you to St. Oliver’s Parish Centre where a series of video clips will be shown. These clips will include messages from Pope Francis and some thought provoking topics that relate to Families in 2018. This Six-Session

Parish Conversation will be held in St Oliver’s Parish Centre each Wednesday at 7.30pm from 21st February to 4th April inclusive.
We would ask you to give some thought to attending these Sessions as we endeavour to prepare for such a special occasion in our Country.
Everybody is Welcome.

It’s one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, to forgive. Forgive everybody.
Maya Angelou

Trócaire
All of us who remember Fr. Ray Reidy will recall that he particularly supported Trócaire each year. This was based on his first hand experience of working as a Missionary and witnessing the good that came of the Lenten Trócaire Collections.
The church continues to support the Trócaire Lenten campaign and we would urge you to take a Trócaire box home and make a conscious effort to put something in to help others.
“Trócaire provides humanitarian assistance and long-term support to communities in over 20 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Last year, 2.6 million people directly benefited from our overseas programmes. In Ireland, we raise awareness about the root causes of poverty and
inequality, and campaign on justice issues.

A Morning Prayer
All through this day, Lord,
Let me touch as many lives as possible for you,
And every life I touch
May you by your Holy Spirit enliven,
Whether by word I speak,
The prayer I breath
Or the life I live. Amen

Some Lenten Promises
1. Sign up for an hour of Eucharistic Adoration.
2. Do 40 acts of kindness.
3. Make 40 phone calls to the important people in your life.
4. Go to a weekday Mass one day during the week.
5. If you don’t have a cross in your house, buy a simple one and put it where you can see it.
6. Attend the Stations of the Cross. Many parishes offer these during Lent.
7. Celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
8. Spend at least one weekend or evening volunteering during Lent.
9. Make a commitment to fast from insensitive, cruel comments about others. So, no gossiping.
10. Pray for somebody.
11. Get to know your Neighbors.
