Safeguarding Sunday 4th February 2018
Next weekend, the church dedicates a day to safeguarding in all churches. As mentioned last year, we will also begin the process of updating our parish records and safeguarding requirements in asking all who serve in our church in any ministry to complete a Garda vetting which is now required by law, every 4 years.
Further details will be available next weekend.

SAFETY NOTICE
Thank you to everyone who, during this flu season, took on board the Safety advice of the Bishop in the omitting the shaking hands at the sign of peace. The alternative of bowing or nodding to those around acknowledges the sign of peace and helps protect everyone. We continue to take medical advice and best liturgical practices at this time for everyone in our churches.
Following on from feedback, we are happy to offer those who wish to take the low-gluten hosts from the main celebrant at every Mass during the distribution of Holy Communion. He will have a special separate section in the ciborium where these hosts will be available. Please let the Priest know as you approach if you wish to receive these hosts. Those with other requirements will continue to receive Holy Communion in the usual way by arrangement with the priest.

Dear Father, On the 2nd February at 7pm in the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, Waterford, there will be a Liturgy of Appreciation for all the work which the Religious Orders and Congregations have carried out in this diocese. There are 20 Religious Orders working and praying among us. I wish to acknowledge the great work carried out by the Religious in the Ceremony on 2nd February, the Feast of the Presentation. It is hoped that a team of John Paul II Award Students, co-ordinated by Fr. Michael Toomey, from across the diocese will give a short summary of the work of each Religious Order. In this way the younger generation can honour the work of the Religious and be inspired by them. The Ceremony will be followed by light refreshments in the Granville Hotel. Your Parishioners are welcome to join us on this evening. Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan
