All clubs are back in action this week after the summer break. Both Clonmel Bridge Club and The ’52 Bridge Club played all through the summer season and had great attendance. It is with sadness that we all heard of the death of Alice O’Connor during the break. Alice loved her game of bridge and, although she was sick, managed to play on the Monday night before she died. We will all miss her at the Centre and extend our sincere sympathies to her family. May she rest in peace.
On Monday morning next, at 10.00 a.m., on 25th Sept., and on Friday night, 29th Sept., The Bridge Centre will run two sessions in bridge to help fundraise for Evan Hickey, the young Clonmel man who needs to have a lifesaving operation in America. All bridge players in the locality are invited to attend and lend their support to this important cause.
