The Banks

Works are almost completed on the new water activities facility in Marlfield at Sandybanks on the River Suir. A lovely job of work and it is a pleasure to walk and admire with sturdy concrete laid to withstand the ripping effect of flood water. The relocation of the bottle bank to a position with a solid wall at its back is a good decision and the narrow entrance way will be controlled by goalpost height restriction. This will become a very valuable outdoor resource as we rediscover the benefit of the river as our fore bears did many generations ago .and it is on our doorstep.

Marlfield Heritage Trail

The final draft of the Marlfield Heritage trail is being developed and the Village committee will have first sight of it at the January meeting for approval .The heritage trail will be self-led trail with a guide booklet which will also be a souvenir of a lovely day spent in our fair and historic village of the Island of Fresh Milk or as Gaelige Inislounaght

Mass

Mass will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Chapel Marlfield on Christmas morning at 9.30am. The seating capacity is limited and if you require seating please come in good time .
