Help the Homeless for Christmas Shoebox Appeal: An appeal has been established to help those who are homeless feel some Christmas spirit as they face these cold winter nights. You are invited to decorate a shoebox for a male or female adult and include some of the following: hats, scarves, gloves, socks (thermal if possible), underwear (new only), poncho, toothpaste, toothbrush, combs, deodorant (no aerosols please), body wash, women’s sanitary items, tissues, soap, shampoo, moisturisers, baby wipes, small towels, sweets, soup sachets, drink sachets (coffee/hot chocolate), toiletry bag, playing cards, torch and batteries, small book, jewellery, flask, notepad and pen etc. Feel free to include a Christmas card or note with a message of thought and hope. Donations of Clean Blankets and Sleeping bags are gratefully appreciated. There will be a drop off point at the end of each mass in St. Mary’s Church on Saturday 10th (6:15pm) and Sunday 11th December (10:30am and 12:00pm). These shoeboxes will be distributed to the homeless people of Clonmel, Tipperary, Carrick-on-Suir and Waterford through their soup kitchens. We would like to thank Robbie Fitzgerald Hannigan for taking responsibility of the appeal in Clonmel. We think of homeless people in our prayers always, and that they may find security and peace.

Birthday Wishes:  Birthday wishes are extended this week to Eddie Sweetman, ‘the Chief’ who celebrated a significant milestone on his life’s journey last Tuesday.  We are lucky to have such a dedicated churchman as Eddie as our Parish Clerk and we wish him many more years of health, happiness and active ministry.
