St Patrick’s Well Ceremonies

The St Patrick’s Well Committee have suspended arrangements for the annual flag raising and prayer ceremony at St Patrick’s Well on the 17th March due to the ongoing Corona virus issue. The ceremony will be revisited depending on how the spread of this virulent virus is contained. We also ask all visitors to practice good hygiene habits when visiting St Patrick’s Well and not to discard drinking bottles, tissues or similar when visiting.

Village Work Plan

The Marlfield Village Committee are presently preparing a work plan for 2020 and future years. Our lovely village has many natural assets from our wild bird sanctuary to our stone walls and history. Please drop into the secretary’s letter box any of your suggestions and how the idea can be actioned. We have applied for a grant from Clonmel Borough District for the creation of a “bee bomb” on the roundabout which will be both a visual and environmental asset for nature. This will compliment the existing pollinator bed and the frog spanning ponds all of which are in this area. We also are continuing with planting of the high berms at Sandybanks with fuchsia. The bed at the village cross has been planted with lavender and further planting with insect loving plants is planned. Later this year you will see small boxes attached to trees along the pondside which are for bats as Marlfield is very nature rich in this elusive creature. These are some of our plans and pen to paper please with your ideas, or call 0862937220 for more information
