POPE JOHN PAUL II AWARD
In the coming weeks, we will have a new team of students from our secondary schools taking part in the Pope John Paul II Award. This award allows these young people to take an active part in their church and community in so many and various way.
LIVE STREAM BROADCASTS FROM CHURCH ON INTERNET AND TELEVISION
As part of the Pope John Paul II award and business social project, many of the students from the High School are beginning work on setting up a live stream service of our Masses and services. This initiative will see various, imaginative fund raising ideas. They will meet the team at Church Services TV who already have an excellent service being provided in St Marys and many other parishes around the country. This project will allow people at home and in nursing homes to watch Mass on their computer, tablet, laptop and television. This will be of huge benefit to those family members who cannot attend funerals, weddings or Baptisms, and will also allow us to put together new programmes and talks as they become available.
We are working with the business department in the High School to ensure the students benefit both in setting up a social business project for the purpose of setting up a television service here, as well as achieving their Pope John Paul II award with their initiatives.
More information will be given in the coming weeks. Thank you in advance for your support with their project in which we, as a parish, will benefit greatly.
ALTAR SERVERS
We welcome back after the summer break our altar servers, and we are excited to welcome 12 new servers to our parish in the coming weeks. They will be training with our new parent coordinator, Mary OLeary, our safeguarding team and Fr Michael. Please keep them in your prayers and thank them for their wonderful ministry.
Applications: Thank you to all who filled in an application to serve in the various ministries in our Parish. Someone will be in contact with you in due course. If others in the Parish are Interested, members of the Pastoral Council will be at all Masses this weekend with forms. They will be happy to talk to you.
