Birthday wishes are extended to Andy Dillon, St Patricks Terrace who celebrated his birthday on Christmas Day.

Birthday wishes are also extended to Philly Dwyer, Connolly Park who celebrated his 92nd birthday recently.

Birthday wishes also to Marie Gleeson, O’Neill Street who celebrated a significant milestone on her life’s journey last weekend.

We welcome into the Christian Faith community of St Mary’s, Molly King, we congratulate her parents, Paul and Sharon.  We also welcome, Ava pearl Wilson and Marley Clarke Wilson.  We congratulate their parents, Scott and Lisa.  We congratulate all the godparents, grandparents and extended families.  These children were baptised over the last couple of weeks.

Christmas Masses:  At our 5pm Christmas Eve, Children’s Mass, Elizabeth Pollard placed the baby infant in the Crib and Isobel Pollard lit the Christ Candle.  All present will forever remember the beautiful rendition of O Holy Night by young Ronan Hally.

At our 8pm Mass, the baby infant was placed in the Crib by Ben and Rachel Fuller and the Christ Candle was lit by Zak O’Loughlin. 

At our 10.30am Mass, Coleen Napier lit the Christ Candle.

And at out 12.00 noon Mass, Isobel Ryan lit our Christ Candle.

Congratulations to three Parishioners who launched books over the Christmas period,  Michael Ahearne, Aileen Achesson and Carey Ann Lordan.  We wish them continued success.

Christmas Collection:  Thanks to all who contributed.  It would be appreciated if you have overlooked returning your envelope to do so at your earliest convenience.

Marlfield:  The Marlfield Village AGM takes place in Marlfield Clubhouse on Monday 29th January at 8pm.  Please come along and take part in the work of managing our village and have your say.  Everyone welcome as this is a public meeting.

World War I:  A young 19 year old man, Jeremiah Fitzgerald, who was baptised in St Mary’s was one of 630 people who died when the ship, The Aragon was sunk off Alexandria in Egypt on 30th December 1917.
