Diocesan needs collection: Peters Pence: The special collection for the various needs and ministries of the Diocese will be taken up at all Masses this weekend. Envelopes are available at Church doors. This collection helps finance much of the work of Bishops House and Diocesan projects. Some of the services in need of funding are, Accord, the Family Ministry Office who offer support to all who are coming to terms with loss in their lives, CURA who offer crisis pregnancy counselling, St John’s Pastoral centre who host talks and events throughout the year. These services need funding and depend so much on your generosity.
Wedding Bells: Congratulations to Kathleen Lonergan, Abbey Road who was recently married in Powerstown to Stephen Hegarty.
Congratulations to Sean Ward, Glenconnor who was married to Samantha Coen, Thurles in Moycarkey last Saturday.
Congratulations also to Christopher David O’Loughlin, Collge Avenue who married Jacqueline Mary Murphy in Killenard, Co Laois last Friday.
We wish all the young couples many years of married happiness and togetherness.
Yearly Boxes of Envelopes: The boxes which facilitate your weekly contribution to the Parish are now available in the Parish Office in the Church. Parishioners who many not attend the Church still want to be associated with the Parish and the upkeep of the Church. Our Church needs a re-painting so there will be some fund-raising events. The best way of fund-raising is through the weekly envelope. An added bonus to using the weekly envelope is that for anyone who is a taxpayer and who contributes €250 to the Parish in the year can bring an added bonus to the Parish in that the Revenue Commissioners will donate €67.50 to the Parish. This scheme does not affect your tax liability in any way. Application forms can be obtained from Maria in the Parish Office. Some Parishes in the Diocese have benefitted by €20,000.00 from this scheme.
NEW IN: Angel and Cherub graveside card holders and cards are available in the Parish Shop in the Crying Room. Pop in and have a look.
