Easter Mass
Mass will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Chapel, Marlfield on Easter Sunday morning 16th April at 9.30am, Seating is limited so please come early if you need a seat.
Grass cutting
The village was busy cutting grass in all areas as the fine weather gave a spurt in growth and the mowers and their crew were in fine order. The heavy grass on the large areas is cut by Coolmore Stables and the crew from Clonmel Borough District Council with their specialised machines and it is looking good. The grass in Marlfield Chapel burial grounds is cut and looking lovely and we have a full schedule for the coming week. The village committee are operating a fuel voucher scheme with Clonmel Service station in Cherrymount and we are grateful if motorists could also pay for a few litres of fuel for the village when purchasing as it all helps to defray cost of cutting.
Setting and Sowing
The village Tus scheme is busy getting the two areas chosen for sowing ready for the coming season. We have planted primualas in the roundabout and will make a start on the high bed at the village cross. Already the long bed has been planted on the top of the Moore’s Road and some final wild flower planting needs doing in this area. The other area we will be tackling this year is the “bottle bank” area and we will liaise with the Clonmel Borough Council on a long term tidy and plant strategy as it has potential.
