Christmas Collection: The envelopes for the Christmas Collection for the support of the Bishop and Priests of the Diocese will be distributed over the weekend and coming week. This collection will be taken up at all Christmas Masses and the following Sunday.
Envelope Distributors: The Christmas envelopes are now ready in the Crying Room Office for all distributors. Thank you.
Carol Service: There will be a Carol Service on Sunday 18th December in St Mary’s Church at 4pm. St Mary’s Choir, St Mary’s CBS Choir and Banna Cluain Meala. All welcome.
Birthday Wishes: Birthday wishes are extended this week to Nuala Maher who celebrated a significant milestone on her life’s journey last weekend. We wish Nuala many more years of health and happiness.
Penitential/Reconciliation Service: We will have our Penitential Service on Wednesday evening at 7.30pm in The Friary. This is an opportunity to prepare for the celebration of Christmas. It is non-threatening, non-judgemental, welcoming and liberating. If you have been away from Confession or Church … If you are not too sure of what the procedure is … Don’t worry. Just come along. Let this Christmas be THE Christmas when YOU found room for Christ in the Inn of your heart, your life, your soul.
Webcam: The webcam is in operation in our Church for the past seven/eight years. It is an outreach service to Parishioners, particularly the housebound who cannot come to Church. If you have a laptop/computer and are linked to broadband you can join in with all Masses and services in St Mary’s. For funeral and weddings, friends and family in any part of the world, who cannot travel home can be part of the celebration by logging on to our live streaming at www.churchservices.tv/clonmel .
Thank you: The Children’s Liturgy Group would like to extend a sincere and huge thank you to all who have contributed to our Homeless Christmas Shoebox appeal. We were truly overwhelmed by the generosity of our parish, as we received over 120 shoeboxes along with several bags of blankets and sleeping bags. These donations will be distributed through soup kitchens in Clonmel, Thurles, Cahir, Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary and Waterford to our brothers and sisters who are homeless. Our shoeboxes were kept safely with a lady over the weekend, who herself had experienced homelessness for several years of her life. She has become involved in this appeal so to express her gratitude to all those who helped her out of harsh times. On receiving our shoeboxes she was truly amazed, grateful and taken aback by such generosity and kindness. We can be very proud of the people of St. Mary’s Parish who are always willing to help those in need and share what they can. We wish you a very merry and peaceful Christmas.
Communion to the Sick: Communion will be brought to the sick and housebound this coming week.
